It is easy for some people to say afterward that the ending was obvious. In hindsight, everything seems obvious. I'm a die hard mystery reader, and it wasn't obvious to me.
The important clues weren't revealed until later in the book. I found this book in a bookstore. I took a chance. And it paid off. I love looking for new authors. I'm always looking for new talent. I liked all the characters. I thought the main character was a little full of herself. But otherwise, the story was great. I was able to picture the house, its gardens, and the beach. I have a new author to follow. I wish her the best of luck. View 2 comments. Not sure at the end if Darby will return to California to her own life, or stay in Maine. I suspect we will find that out in the next in the series, which I will be reading as well. Apr 11, Suzanne M Seidel rated it liked it. This was a nice dependable book. You can depend on the main character lady to have no discernable flaws.
You can depend on an out of town hunk to show up and be dependable and great. You can depend on their being a twist that you never saw coming in fact it was a bit too out of left field for me.
